Small update.

OK so we got news on grandpa. He does have cancer. The don't want to operate because of his age. They have him a hormone shot and will check his level in 3 months. I'm praying that it will go into remission. If not grandpa is thinking radiation. I'm just going to try and keep a positive mind. I've never hated a word as much as cancer. Now that it has gone after two grandparents and been a possibility to 3 others. I know that we will make it through this no matter what, but it would be nice for it to be on a positive note. I love you grandpa!

Thankful For.....

Well it's that time of year where we all sit down with our family and friends and discuss what we are thankful for. This year my mom, sister, and niece are coming over to my house. I will be the one doing the cooking. So here is my list.

I am thankful for:

~the fact that I made it through this year. I can't wait to start another one with hopes that it will be better.

~my family. No matter what they are always there for me. The greatest thing is that I don't even have to tell them I need them, they just seem to know.

~my friends. My real life friends and online friends. They have really been there for me through all my stuff this last year.

~my wonderful co-workers. They truly are my second family. I wouldn't have made it this far without them.

~my great job. Not only do I love my job, but I work for a great company. While all these banks are having troubles we are making profit.

~my puppy. Toby has sat with me at my loneliness times and kept me company. He truly loves me unconditionally.

~that I finally got the chance to take my girls to Disneyland. It was such a great time for us to share together.

~and finally and most importantly my girls. No one can make you feel more loved than your kids. They make me smile.

I know there's more, but this my list.

I miss you!

So here is the best woman I've ever known. Tomorrow is one year since she passed. I really can't believe that it's gone by so fast. There has been so much that she should have been a part of. She'll never she the pictures from the girls first trip to Disneyland. The is one thing that I remember is going to Disneyland with my grandparents. She was always the first person that I wanted to show the birthday cakes and costumes to. She was always so proud of me. One of the reasons I enjoyed making everything was because I knew how excited she would be. She missed Celeste's first dance. I know that she is in heaven looking down on us, but it's not the same. Maybe I'm selfish to miss her so much and want her around. I know she lived a full and very loved life and wouldn't have changed a thing. I just hope that she is up there helping to guide me in the direction I need to go. I know that I need her. I just wanted to make sure to pay tribute to a wonderful woman and best grandma in the world. In the picture above she is holding me at about 11 months old. I was her first grandchild. I love you grandma!

Favorite Season ATC Swap

Halloween again!

I can't believe I forgot to post pictures of me and my coworkers from Halloween. I didn't make my costume, I actually bought it. Here I am as a Goth Raggedy Ann doll. My two co workers Jackie and Cassie as the witch and baby. We couldn't get the other two to dress up. OH well maybe next year!

What day is it?

I've had so much going on in my life that I can barely tell what day it is. Unfortunately the Holidays make it busier. At least the election is finally over. I was glad that Obama won, but was so tired of hearing all the ads. I get Tuesday off! And thank god for our wonderful Veterans. Of course my favorite two are my daddy and grandpa. Speaking of Grandpa it's been almost one year since my loving grandma moved on to her next life. This is such a hard time for the family. On top of the year anniversary Grandpa has to go in on Tuesday for a biopsy on his prostate. Please keep him in your thoughts, I don't think my family can handle anymore cancer right now. Gosh Tuesday will be a busy day as I also have the floor guys coming to replace my bathroom floors. Well as of right now I'm thinking about getting started on my Christmas ATC's. So hopefully I'll have some news soon.

Update on my life.

About a week before Makayla went into the hospital I got a new car. I traded in the 4-runner for a Ford Focus. I just love it. I've always liked cars over suv's and trucks. It gets much better gas mileage. Some time that same week I started to have a break down. I took myself off my meds and so much was going on. The worst part is that Makayla hadn't even gotten sick yet. Anyways the girls at work told me to leave and go do something for myself. So I went home changed my clothes and went for a drive. I went to Reno, then up Mt Rose hwy through Incline Village all the way to South Lake. I went to my favorite waterfall, but believe it or not it was all dried up. Can you believe it. The scenery was still pretty. This a picture of the viking castle at Emerald Bay. Needless to say that on Friday when I got the call that Makayla had to go to the ER I wasn't doing to well to start out. But we made it through. All the time I spent at home with her gave me time to work on the costumes. I'm on the last one. We also just finished up the ATC swap that my SJ buddies and I were doing. I got to hostess it so I got to see all of the cards first. I'll be mailing them out on Monday. I'll also take pictures and post soon. We will be starting a new swap for Christmas. Just as I was getting excited at all the leaves changing colors we got snow yesterday and today. I was going to drive out to Hope Valley and take some pictures, but not with the snow. This was my first weekend without the girls in about a month. Hopefully the next weekend they are with Rob the weather will be nicer to take pictures.

My girls

So along with everything else that has gone on this past month, both of the twins had to get glasses. They look so cute. Celeste has now informed me that the board in class is blurry so guess who's next?

Makayla update

Well here is Makayla when she was in the hospital. She was there for a total of 4 days. When she was finally released Rob took care of her at home for a day and a half then I took Thursday and Friday off. It was some very long days. She was on 8 different meds and had to have a breathing treatment every 3 hours. On that Friday when I took her to the Dr. she got cleared to go back to school and had the breathing treatments lessened so she could go. After another week the Dr. finally gave her the OK that she was better. So now she's still on 6 meds, but only 5 more days left of the steroid. We have so much equipment for her I feel like a medical facility. She has been so good about all of this. She remembers her meds on her own (of course she knows not to take them without me there). She goes in about 2 weeks to see an allergy specialist. They have determined that her asthma is allergy provoked. So of course they will run tests on her. The tests they ran in the hospital show that she is allergic to dogs, cats, and wheat. The previous one showed dogs, cats, grass, and trees. They are saying I have to get rid of Toby. I'm not sure what is going to happen. Rob has offered to take him if need be. It's possible we could take him back after a year or two, if the allergy meds work. She's so upset about the dog, but we haven't made a decision yet.

When it rains it pours!

So guess where I spent my weekend? I'll tell you anyways. At the hospital. On Friday morning one of my twins started having problems with her asthma. I let her stay home and she took a couple of breathing treatments. Well that evening between 5 and 8 Rob gave her 3 treatments. They didn't seem to be helping me so he called me and I told him I'd meet him at the ER. When we got there they took us back and got a respiratory specialist in right away. They put her on oxygen and albuterol. They also gave her a steroid. All the things we are use to, but it wasn't helping very much. They took an X-ray and the Dr thought she might have pneumonia. We don't have a hospital here locally, so they have to send you to either Carson City or Lake Tahoe. Well they sent us to Carson-Tahoe Hospital's ER after about 5 hours. So we drove the 30 minute drive with her on oxygen. When we got there they started her on more treatments, but this Dr determined that she did not have pneumonia. After a lot of waiting and treatments they finally decided to admit her. Her oxygen levels were in the low 80's. By the time we got up into the room and asked the same questions for a third time Rob and I had been awake for about 22-23 hours. I finally got a 2 hour nap in. During the whole time Makayla is being so brave. She is still in the hospital as I write this. She is improving slowly, but it wasn't until tonight that one of the Docs told us just how bad she was. They were all concerned and had care flight on hold in case they needed to send her to Reno. On a scale of 1-10 and 1 being the worst, he said she was a 3. And they weren't sure she was going to make it through the first night. So of course once I heard that I just broke down. That is my baby! I do know that she is now getting better and I should think positive, but it's hard to think that if we'd hadn't taken her in and just tried to control it ourselves she could have died. The Dr. expects that she won't be able to go home until at least Tuesday or Wednesday. And until now I didn't know just how severe her asthma is. I knew it was bad, but not severe. Today her and I were laughing and teasing each other, so she's in good spirits. She just wants to come home. I had to come home today, because Catie was sick and I have to work in the morning. My boss is letting me leave at noon and then I'll drive back up to Carson. With some luck I'll get to bring her home with me. Rob is staying with her tonight so she isn't alone.

I'll fill everyone in on what else has been in going on this past week soon and also keep you updated on Makayla.

Love You!

On Wednesday, Sept. 10th my dad called me to let me know that one of my favorite guys was in the hospital. My wonderful grandpa had had a heart attack. That morning he was having chest pains so he went to the hospital. They ran all kinds of test, but never really found what the cause was or if it was an actual heart attack. He only had to stay one night. I'm so glad that he is ok and home. It was 10 months ago that he lost my grandma so I get very worried. They say that when you lose your sole mate you lose your heart. I've been afraid for the last year that he might go of a broken heart. I am very proud of how strong he has been. Tomorrow or actually in five minutes he will be 82 years old. My sister and I are going to take him out to dinner the begining of next week. I told him he needed a date. Please pray for him as it is coming up on a hard time for him. This is a picture of he and I last year at Christmas.

Fall is in the air!

So before we now it we will be raking up leaves. Can you believe how fast the year has gone? There are lots of trees with spots of yellow on them. It's so pretty. This is a picture of the trees on my way into work. You can see all the different colors of green and the yellow starting to come out.
So on Wednesday right before 6pm my dad calls to inform me that my grandpa was in the hospital. They thought he had a heart attack. They ran all kinds of tests, but still aren't sure what exactly is wrong. They sent him home, but I worry about him. I don't want him to give up because grandma is gone. On the 16th he will turn 82. What an amazing life he has lived too. When I went to the hospital to see him, he told me that he couldn't believe how many grandchildren and great grandchildren he has. Imagine all that love just because he and grandma loved each other so much!
I know that there is more I want to say, but I'm just too tired to think. Catch up later!

First day of school

Well today the girls went back to school. The twins are in 4th grade now and Celeste is in her last year of elementary. I'm so sad. She's growing up too fast. They all like their teachers as of today. Celeste is surrounded by boys and I think she's happy about that. This morning I took pictures of the girls.

Here is Celeste.

And Caitlyn, she wanted her hair pink and well it's definately pink.
Now we have Makayla. She got her Emo cut and I put some red in it. It's so cute.
And of course the 3 of them together at the bus stop.

And it's another week....

Well it's the start of another week. Last week was so crazy. My boss was on vaca so guess who had to handle all the problems. Yep it was me. I made it through though. On Saturday the girls and I drove out to Dayton to hang out with my sis, niece and mom. We had a BBQ. Celeste and I got to play the wii. It was my first time playing it. I really enjoyed. You can get a lot of exercise with the interactiveness of the game system. Celeste and I were playing Mario kart and I kept beating her. I told her that maybe Santa will have to drop a wii off at our house for Christmas. I'd love to get the fitness pack. I've heard lots of people have lost weight using it. My sister made chicken that she marinaded in this amazing sauce. It was so delicious. Rob even rode out on his new bike. I don't know if I even mentioned that he traded in his Harley for a Triumph. He loves his new bike. He has put almost 1000 miles on it in a month. I'll have to take a picture and post it. I'm such a loser with my camera lately. I think it's because my mind is just in a million places. Sunday we went to my dad's house to hang out. My uncle came out for Hot August Nights. We always have a family get together on that weekend. On Friday night dad out in Reno listening to music and Davey Jones from the Monkeys was there. He called me and held up his phone so I could hear. He knows that's my favorite Monkey. So on Sunday the girls all played on the slip and slide and were shooting everyone with water guns. They had so much fun.

So lately I've been having a real hard time sleeping. I went to my Dr. because of my depression and he wants to check everything to see what's going on. He gave me sleeping pills and thought that maybe my lose of sleep was making my worse. He also wants me to keep checking my blood pressure to see if it's my bp pills. He doesn't really want to change my antidepressant, because it's the first one to ever work for me. God knows I've been trying them since the twins were born. He's also trying to make sure I eat well and exercise, but it's hard to work out with 3 girls. He wants to make sure I don't go down the road to anorexia again. Well I'll get my blood work done this week and I'll see him the beginning of Sept.

On a good note it's Halloween costume time. Makayla is going to be Hannah Montana, Celeste a genie, and Caitlyn a punk fairy. I've got part of Makie's done. But I need to move my butt and get them all done!

I got to go see Collin Raye and Billy Ray Cyrus a couple of weekends ago. It was a good concert. I love Collin Raye and it was the 4th or 5th time I've seen him. Billy Ray was better than I thought he would be. Miley was suppose to be there, but couldn't get a flight. It was a boys and girls club benefit. I'm glad Miley wasn't there, because my girls probably wouldn't have ever spoken to me again if they would have missed her.

ATC swap

I'm sure I mentioned that I was doing an ATC (altered trading card) swap. Everyone picked a different theme and we all made a card based on our idea of that theme. My theme is Favorite Holiday. I thought I would post the ones I made. When I get all mine I will post them also.

Another trip update.

Well look at those boys! That's the national league first place team. Go Cubs! On July 3rd my girlfriend Liz and I went to San Francisco. We went to watch the Cubs play the Giants. Unfortunately for me my team lost. But we had the best seats. We were 16th row on the 3rd base line. In the morning we went and walked the wharf. We had a lady draw a picture of us. Then we decided to go get a tattoo. I got a musical note on my right ankle. We had a good time, but we had to get back that day so we drove home. There was no one on the road. It took us between 3 and 31/2 hours instead of 4 or more. When we got home I went with my girls and my bff to the fireworks. We took a fire pit with us and made smores! It was so fun, but I was really tired.

Yucky!!!

So that latest around G-ville is that we can't breath. The smoke from all the California fires has decided to settle in our valley. Today when I left work the smoke was so thick that we couldn't see the mountains. There is ash flying around and I feel like I'm a smoker all of the sudden. It was so gray tonight that it almost looked like winter. Cross your fingers that the firemen can get some of these fires out. This is a really bad fire season.

Pictures!!!!

Long time no post.

Ok so it's time for me to catch up. Celeste did great at the talent show. Her and Lindsey were terrific. Caitlyn also did a great job. I can't believe that she got up on stage and sang in front of everyone. I could never do that. Well on June 9th one of my closest friends had her first baby. They named him Wyatt. He is so cute. I love babies, but not enough to ever have another. Anyways also that week Celeste had a big cheer show. She is getting very good at her moves. I watch her do moves that I never could do. The best part is that she is really enjoying the cheer class. When you like the things you do it makes it so much fun. Well the next thing that happened is actually quite a major thing. On Friday the 13th I took off of work so I could go on my girls weekend. We weren't leaving until after noon. As I was packing my stuff that morning I got a call from Rob telling me that my bank had been robbed. I could not believe it. I was going to work a half day, but thought it would be better to sleep in since we would be up late that night. The big jerk came in with a briefcase, said he had a gun and took the money. Luckily no one was hurt. I was in such shock I was shaking. Obviously I had to go make sure the girls were ok before we left on our mini vaca.

So after all that drama the four of us piled in the car and took off. We stopped in Vacaville and went to the outlet mall. After we spent way too much money we headed to San Jose. Our flashlight tour at the Winchester House started at 10:30. The house was so interesting. The next day we went to San Francisco. We walked the piers and went to the wax museum. Then we went to the Japanese Tea Garden. It is so pretty there. I took some great pictures. When it was close to time for our tour we went to Haight-Ashbury. We took a tour of some of the haunted areas. It was so much fun. Acutally is it was my favorite part. I got to see so much stuff.

Then this last week was the 50th Anniversary celebration for my bank. We had a lunch for our customers on Thursday. It was nice to hang out with the customers and visit. We had 74 people show up for lunch. Pretty good for a small town.
Well it's getting late and I am drawing a blank. So if I think of anything else I'll just post a new blog. I will post one with pictures from the San Francisco trip.

Take me out to the T-ball game

Well my tribute to my favorite Orange Butterfly, Chloe:
